professional mental health services and counseling, education, and
consultation to area citizens.

since July 2002 by The Samaritan Institute.

Background: The
Samaritan Institute, an international partnership between the institute
and affiliated centers, was formed as a non-profit corporation to unit and
develop counseling centers using the Samaritan name and model. It's
the largest accrediting body of faith affiliated counseling centers in the
country.

Hallmarks: A
belief in the close relationship and balance of mind, body and spirit and
the importance of treating all three. A team approach to counseling
using the psychological, medical and theological disciplines. An
emphasis on cost-efficiency and accessibility. Professional
accountability through certification and licensure.

Leadership: K.
Blake Horne, Ph.D. is the Executive Director of the Center. Dr.
Horne holds theological and graduate degrees from Mercer University and
Mercer University School of Medicine, respectively, as well as a Ph.D.
From Florida State University.

Treatment programs:
Treatment for such difficulties as depression, anxiety, marital and family
discord, substance abuse, work-related stresses, child behavioral
problems, spiritual crises, and divorce.
